Open Question: unnecessary defibrillator shocks (dr fault)?

i was having my device checked at a regular check up by a dr in my dr office not my regular dr and she changed the setting as i was leaving the office i got shocked 15 times in a row until i finally made it back to the office where they had to disable it by using a magnet .now when i go to the dr office my heart starts racing IM TOTALLY SCARED what can i do to over come my fear ??..could this be medical malpractice ??should i contact a lawyer?? my dr has prescribed me xanax and budeprion
