Open Question: Do you think Edwards race strategy contributed to his error?

The field spent the first two thirds of the race getting used to their car, other racers and the bump draft. It seemed to me they were feeling things out, slowly bumping harder and pushing more into the turns. If Edwards had been in the thick of things throughout the race would he have made that mistake?
