Or girls/women (well, it mostly tends to be females who do this) who claim to be bisexual just to make a statement? I’ve had many female friends like that in high school, I’m sorry, if someone truly is bisexual, male or female, cool with me, but “wannabe bisexuals” or LUGS and all that, it just isn’t cute. There are better ways to get guys attention and to make statements. I mean I know as GLBT rights are making people more AWARE of people like that, doesn’t necessarily mean all of a sudden everyone has to start “coming out” and saying something they don’t even know they are just because its considered “in”. Its like claiming to be of a certain race or ethnicity just because its popular and looks cool. You either are or aren’t, and should be happy with yourself for who you are inside, not for what you want others to percieve you as. It hinders peoples already negative perception of gay and bisexual people (thank MTV for that), so why make it worse?

I say the same thing with straight people who say they support GLBT people just because it makes them look politically correct, it’s like some white people who say they have black friends just so they don’t appear racist.
What I’m really getting at is, what’s up with all the fake people?

I think im starting to b racist with african american or mexican from mexico. See im young asian in her tweentys, but its like acouple of times this chick african american starts talking behind my back and I didn’t even do anything. She even moved area away from work. U can get the vibe when someones acting totally differnt around you too. I have friends that are both african and mexican cuz I use to come from a place that is really diverse but everyones pretty well off. The place that I am at now seems like everyones more to there own race. Even at work. I guess maybe thats why I notice me doing that. Now everytime I c a afriacan american or mexican I feel like I am giving a rascist vibe. How do I stop and look at people individual and not by race if they talk behind my back. Because I don’t want to be a person like that I never was racist before.

Posted by carposter Published in Newsi am currently in an interracial relationship. i am white and he is from guatemala. i get so much crap about it from everyone. it is not just older ppl (i’m 22), but also people my own age. i know you shouldn’t care what other ppl think, but it does get to you. i’m so defensive over everything. my friends parents told me i was going to hell for dating outside of my race, and i have heard very insulting commits thrown at me. my question is that why does it matter. he is smart, kind, and a an amazing person…why, why do we get ridiculed for our relationship. it is almost like are relationship is credited as much as same race couples. what ever happened to love is all that matters?

When they ask you for your ethinicity/race, do you not consider your self any of the catagories they list? Do you think they should have one for your people. My problem is that I’d like to see “Middle Eastern” on their because apparently, they classify me in as white, and even though I am, the part of me that isn’t (Syrian) doesn’t want ot be grouped up in the “white” catagory. Apparently they consider Middle Easterners “white.” Do you have the same problem, you consider yourself distinct from the group they lump you in with? If you do, what are you and what catagory would you like to see in the future for your people!
*note, even if you put in what you are under the “other” catagory they may just stick you in under a bigger catagory and ignore the fact you put what you are down there
