Yes. According to the U.S. The 2000 U.S. census states that racial categories "generally reflect a social definition of race recognized in this country. They do not conform to any biological, anthropological or genetic criteria."[9] It defines "white people" as "people having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.[10]
And get this at one point in the US these races WERE NOT CONSIDERED WHITE?

Even among Europeans, those not considered white at some time in American history are the Irish, Germans, Ashkenazi Jews, Italians, Spaniards, Slavs, Greeks and other European Mediterranean peoples.[1
I think 100 years from now...nobody will be even put in the a category...especially in the U.S.
