This country is built on democracy, the freedom of people to make their own choices. All this talk about Barack this and that. Is it because he’s black? Let’s take a look, Arnold Swarzenegger is Austrian, he wasn’t even born on US soil. When he became elected, nothing was said. What experience did he have? Ronald Reagan was an actor, what experience did he have? George Bush’s chief of staff outed a spy, was found guilty by a jury, conviction upheld, yet he was pardoned. Strom Thurmond a senator, who once ran for President said, the only way a nigger will have equal rights is over his dead body. While I don’t agree with everyone’s policies, I let the people choose. Circulating lies like Obama’s a muslim and terrorists are childish. If he was a muslim it would definately be found out by now. But even if he was,the that exclude an American from running for president. Just because a person doesn’t share your views doesn’t make them unelectable.

FYI - Market rate rent for 300 square feet on the Upper West Side in a not-so-well maintained building without a doorman is at least $1900 per month. For a larger apartment (say 450 sq. ft.) in the same neighborhood in a building with an elevator is at least $2600 per month. A small apartment in the…

“The Bible is the inerrant … word of the living God. It is absolutely infallible, without error in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as well as in areas such as geography, science, history, etc.” Jerry Falwell, Finding Inner Peace and Strength
“The true Negro does not want integration… He realizes his potential is far better among his own race… It will destroy our race eventually… In one northern city, a pastor friend of mine tells me that a couple of opposite race live next door to his church as man and wife… It boils down to whether we are going to take God’s Word as final.”

I am moving back north from Florida and will truly miss the amazing autocross club we have in my area. We meet every month and have access to a 1 sq mile airfield. Just wondering if there are some good ones in the Boston area that are not exclusive clubs based on make, etc. Just looking for some fun grassroots weekend warrior type racing. Following SCCA rules, but not dealing with lots of pretension… thats my thing.

Ok, so theres this fraction of a dream I had thats interesting, where it starts is I’m at some kind of huge party, I think it was a wedding of some peculiar sort. Anyway I wanted to talk to a friend of mine (mat), but for some reason he decided take a jog (Not surprising since he’s in track). So I go up to the path where he started at (the base of a mountine where the path winds around it) and another friend of mine (cecelia) wants to speak with him as well, so we end up racing trying to catch up to him. When the party and buildings are out of site I start losing ground on her, which should be impossible considering out fitness differences, and when she is 60 paces ahead of me I realize I’m getting dangerously close to the edge of the path, and when I try to bring myself back in I feel this force pushing back towards the ledge, when I try again I realize my left leg (It’s the one facing the edge) isn’t moving right, I get irritated at my situation and grind my left foot into the ground
and jump to the right, and even though I shouldn’t be able to with the force and limp I start gaining ground on her and eventually beat her to a flat side of the mountine, where I see Mat waving goodbye to a family of strangers with a gift in his hand and jogging along (typical behavior of him actually).
So, what does it mean when a friend who should have no chance of beating up in a race gets far ahead unhindered while I am being pushed off the ledge and have a numb left leg..which makes it even harder to stay on the path.
Please and thank you.
Ahh, fate’s trying to push me off? Well no wonder I was so stubborn! Explains why I made it to the top too!
Hell you have a point though, if something wasn’t trying to push me off I’d prolly just be lazy and give up

Now that Clemens is taking as much heat if not more than Bonds has i think that angle is pretty much dead, which is great because i was tired of hearing that.

OK. It seems like a lot of racers and freeskiing competitors nowadays know very little about the technical aspects of the gear they use.
Back in the days when I raced, things like DIN, boot sizes, proper weights and heights for what ski sizes we used, waxing, types of wax, etc. etc. were things we just learned. Either our coaches told us this stuff or we learned it on our own somehow.
Are these things still taught to racers nowadays or is the focus simply on racing skills and techniques?
This is something I’ve noticed over the past few years…I’m just curious.

A turtle can run .1 m/s and a hare 2 m/s. They start a race at the same time, but the hare stops to rest for 2 min. The turtle wins by .2 meters. How long does the race take? What is the length of the race?

Ideally, I would like to learn the sport and go on to be in the olympics. I’m a bit of a speed demon myself so I find this sport perfect for me. I live in southern California at the moment so I understand there are few options for me right now, however I plan to go to college in Colorado or Seattle Washington in about a year where there will be snow. Is there a way to get into skeleton racing or bobsledding or luge in theses areas? Or perhaps somewhere near me. What would I need to perfect with myself to be good at such a sport? Any help is appreciated.
